Samsung Galaxy M31 with 64MP camera, 6000mAh battery launched in Nepal

The Galaxy M31, Samsung’s latest battery beast, was launched in India back in February following last year’s huge success with the M30s. The Corona Virus outbreak in Nepal and the national lockdown that followed forced the postponement of the launch here in Nepal. A competitive price tag, however, has finally been announced for the Galaxy M31 by Samsung in Nepal. Redmi Note 9 Pro just launched as well, so it will compete with this one as well. Lets see Samsung galaxy m31 price in Nepal with its specs.

Samsung Galaxy M31 Overview

Design & Display

Samsung’s Galaxy M31 and M30s are the same in terms of design. Polycarbonate covers the back of both phones. As on the M30s, the M31 has a vertically oval fingerprint scanner, but I hope Samsung did some work to make it more responsive than the M30s.

A wider camera module and an extra sensor are the only major differences between the two cameras. On the Galaxy M31, Samsung has also chosen to go darker in terms of color options.

In the same way, the display doesn’t evolve either. For its front camera, it has the same Infinity ‘U’ cutout as the 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel. With 420nits of peak brightness, this glass panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. As an AMOLED display, it’s colorful and vivid, and it has a high contrast ratio.

I was already tired of hearing that the M31 is identical to the M30s, so I was delighted to hear that it has some significant upgrades. With this new model, Samsung has thrown in an additional macro lens to keep up with the quad-camera trend.

Using Tetracell pixel binning, 48MP photos can be taken from the primary shooter. Besides that, there are 8MP ultra-wide and 5MP depth sensors, as well as 5MP macro lenses. A vertically upright ‘L’ shaped arrangement contains the cameras.

A single selfie camera resides on the front, which has been upgraded to a 32MP lens that can record both 4K and slow-motion video.

Performance & Memory

Samsung’s Galaxy M31 sports the same Exynos 9611 chipset found in its older brother. Why am I surprised? As if Mercury were going in retrograde, you wouldn’t expect a decent SoC to appear in a budget or mid-range Samsung smartphone. Samsung sticks to the strategy of PRETTY DESIGN + UNDERPOWERED CHIPSET, while brands like Realme & Xiaomi pump out mid-range & budget devices with incredibly powerful chipsets.

The phone’s memory capacity has been realized to be insufficient for 2020 due to 3/4GB of RAM. On the Galaxy M31, Samsung provides either 6GB or 8GB of RAM in recognition of that. As of now, Nepal is the only country with a UFS 2.1 variant that uses a microSD card for expansion. It runs Android 10 out of the box with One UI 2.0.

In addition, Widevine L1 certification is also available for streaming HD content on the Galaxy M31. Dolby Atmos 360o surround-sound speakers add to the immersive entertainment experience.

Well then they didn’t call it the “#MegaMonster” for nothing, did they? Like how the M30s blew the M31 out of the water with its incredible 6000mAh battery, the legacy continues with the Galaxy M31. However, I would have appreciated it if it were able to charge faster as well.

As we noted in our review of the M30s, the phone has already proven to be a two-day phone, which is great. From nil to full charge, it took almost two and a half hours. You ain’t kidding me, isn’t it? According to Samsung, the M31 also is capable of 15W charging, so Samsung clearly disagrees. Adaptive Fast Charging (15W) is the only feature supported by the Exynos 9611 SoC.
